Boxy watch winder was established in Taiwan in year 2001. The team was formed with members coming from different industry backgrounds such as wood product, electronic-design and automatic-control, aiming to produce high quality, elegant and affordable winder for automatic watches. With years of experience and knowledge, Boxy developed the Brick Series. Launched in 2009, Boxy Brick Series was the first collection that proved a hit, due to its most attractive patented Unique-Multiple-Conductivity feature that allows users to power multiple winding units through one single adapter.
What is a watch winder?
A watch winder is a device that utilises an electric motor and one or more rotating systems to wind the mainspring in automatic wristwatches. While automatic watches can be manually wound, this is not always convenient. As such, a watch winder helps to maintain the watch winding state and allows the watch movement to keep the time.
A watch winder serves 3 major functions:
- Provides the owner with the convenience of not having to reset or adjust his/her watch after unused periods
- Minimisation of wear-and-tear
- Extends the service life of mechanical watches
Key Features of the Boxy Watch Winder
The Boxy Watch Winder is built using the Mabuchi motor with belt driving system. Equipped with a Light-Sensor, it allows the winder module to stop at the up-right position and manages the number of Turns-Per-Day (TPD). It offers users three choices of Rotational Direction such as clockwise, counter-clockwise, bi-directional; and 3 to 15 selection of TPD. Also, the Brick/Fancy series of the Boxy Watch Winder was designed with the most attractive patented Power-Sharing feature that allows multiple watch winders (up to 12 units) to be operated simultaneously by a single AC adaptor.
