Two new chronograph models brimming with vernal energy – the Tempus III Guilloché and Tempus III Skeleton.

This spring, independent Swiss watch brand Edouard Koehn, is charging ahead with the introduction of the Tempus III collection crafted in Grade 5 Titanium.

The collection features two new chronograph models, the Tempus III Guilloché and Tempus III Skeleton, exuding a vibrant springtime spirit. These models are powered by the Tri-Compax EK-CHR-MVT01 chronograph self-winding Manufacture movement developed by Concepto, an independent Swiss Manufacture of high-end mechanical movements based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

Guilloché dials are magical, featuring metallic surfaces engraved with geometric patterns that diffuse light in entrancing ways. Depending on the angle of one’s wrist, light reflects off the dial’s facets, creating an alluring dance of reflections. The Tempus III Guilloché Chronograph is a poetic play on light and a nod to watchmaking tradition, showcasing the centuries-old craft of guilloche work on watch dials.

Skeletonized movements trace back to the mid-eighteenth century, designed to reduce movement weight and highlight its raw mechanical elegance. The Tempus III Skeleton Chronograph in titanium, already lightweight, features a skeletonized calibre that invites a casual appreciation of the EK-CHR-MVT01 chronograph movement. With 245 components and a ceramic ball-bearing oscillating weight, the skeletonized movement elevates this Tempus III model into a head-turner, exuding a sophisticated technical touch.

Tempus III is designed to be an everyday timepiece suitable for both formal and casual wear, owing to its lightweight, sophisticated, and sporty form factor. A titanium watch case is typically 40% lighter than a steel one. This lightweight feature, combined with its 100-meter water resistance and screw-down crown, positions the Tempus III as an ideal companion for active lifestyles. Comfortable, lightweight, and durable, the Tempus III will prove to be more enjoyable over time, reflecting the brand’s motto: ‘Timeless Journeys & Endless Discoveries’.

Described as the metal of the future, titanium and its alloys are known for their lightweight nature, high strength, and corrosion resistance, making them widely utilized in aerospace, medical, and military industries. Titanium alloys became prominent in military and commercial aircraft from the 1960s onwards. Notably, titanium alloys were integral to the construction of the Lockheed SR-71 ‘Blackbird,’ the fastest manned jet, which debuted in 1964. The Tempus III case is crafted from Grade 5 Titanium, a widely-used alloy prized for its higher tensile strength and yield point compared to pure titanium.

The natural grey color of Grade 5 Titanium is enhanced by ceramic bezels, counters, and flanges available in blue, green, sand or black hues, providing a vibrant choice for individuals who incorporate colour into their style expressions.

The contemporary sporty case design unique to Edouard Koehn is aesthetically enhanced in a more compact form, measuring 41mm in diameter and 14.5mm in height. The addition of vibrant colours on the dial and bezel adds a youthful touch, making the Tempus III suitable for smaller wrist sizes. Despite their lightweight nature, the Tempus III Skeleton and Guilloché chronographs exude substance. This perfect balance allows the Tempus III chronographs to shine brightly.
