In the animal kingdom, the most chivalrous of all fatherly sentient beings is the Emperor Penguin. After the mother lays her egg, she delicately passes the precious cargo over to him, to balance on his feet underneath his brooding pouch. There, the egg will be kept warm, above the ice, for two whole months, as papa stands still as a pillar in the bitter Antarctic winter, without food, while mama hunts for fish.

In comparison, our manlike fathers may not be as noble, may fraught with insecurity issues and tend to be forgetful, but they are our voice of reason and keep us grounded. We always seek his wisdom and teachings, his secure presence and unknowingly most times, his approval.

To honour that special bond between father and child, mother and father, a time telling ticker on papa’s wrist is a befitting horological beacon, to serve as a constant reminder for dad, that his unconditional love is appreciated, wise words are respected, and calming company is treasured.

For the magnanimous man who embraces fatherhood, Sincerewatch.com is proud to feature 5 Father’s Day gift options for different dad-types.

Founded in 1992, Bell & Ross designs are inspired by aircraft cockpit clocks, with precision and legibility in mind. Infused with military vibes and pilot instrumentality, the BR05 also oozes diving DNA. This brilliant hybrid of sports versatility will get you to a board meeting, the gym, and then a dip in the sea on weekends.

The sunburst black dial of the BR05 offers maximum visibility in day or night. Its squarish bezel secured by 4 screws has rounded corners which are high polished, along with the narrow edges of the case, and centre links of its hefty integrated bracelet. The Vintage Connoisseur

Breitling AVI REF. 765 1953 Re-Edition

When it comes to aviation, Breitling is the choice of pilots to fly the friendly skies with. Since its inception in 1884, Breitling’s focus was chronographs, and this re-edition is the almost 100% identical remake of one of Breitling’s most beautiful vintage.

Available in 3 metal iterations, the faithful recreation boasts an in-house manually wound B09 calibre with 70 hours of power reserve. COSC certified, its case measures 41mm, with a thickness of 11mm – ideal dimensions for that tactile thumb and index finger grip of the rotatable bezel, and crisp actuation of the column wheel chronograph with 15-minute counter. A glimpse into its soul from the back would be icing on the cake, but Breitling remained true to its forefather.

Franck Muller Vanguard Yachting

Making its splash into the horological fray 5 years ago, the iconic Vanguard collection is the flamboyant marque’s latest triumph in design architecture.

Inspired by our oceans, the ever-flowing essence of life, the nautical Vanguard Yachting features a three-piece polished stainless steel case with a blue resin insert adorning its centre, which integrates seamlessly into the supple rubber strap, giving the pleasant illusion of the blue strap permeating through the entire case.

Its classy curves conform to the contours of one’s wrist, allowing for supreme comfort and wearability. The urbane blue dial is flanked by oversized Arabic indices which seem to float magically above a blue metallic liquid surface.

The Outdoor Adventurer

Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Blue

In 2018, the Montblanc 1858 line was revamped to celebrate the spirit of mountain climbing – each timepiece is tested for 500 hours to ensure optimal performance in extreme conditions, and within 2 short years, the Geosphere has taken on its own identity.

The Geosphere’s instantly recognisable dual hemispheres sends a strong message beckoning peak exploration, at a consumer-friendly price point. Its predecessors were clad in warm halcyon bronze and steel tones, but the Geosphere Blue has been imbued with grade 5 titanium, and a fume-styled icy blue dial.

If this gorgeous arctic tool watch doesn’t pique your mountaineering interest yet, a new supremely comfortable bracelet makes its debut here, across the entire line – it features interior “beads of rice” links made of polished steel, and outer links in brushed titanium.

Fittingly, the seven tallest peaks are engraved on the case back as a tribute to the 7 Summits Challenge. Be sure to get matching ice axes.
