Grand Seiko, in partnership with Sincere Fine Watches, unveiled the ‘Nature of Time’ exhibition at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to watch enthusiasts, esteemed guests, public and local press. Running from 23rd November 2024 to 2nd January 2025, opposite Sincere Fine Watches boutique, an immersive showcase that celebrates the harmonious blend of nature, craftsmanship, and innovation awaits visitors.
Inspired by the serene beauty of Japan’s natural landscapes, the exhibition space is designed to create an immersive forest experience. Projection mapping showcases the interplay of light and shadow, which echoes Grand Seiko’s distinct design language, and enhances the tranquil ambience, complemented by ambient sounds of a gentle breeze and the rustling of leaves.
At the heart of the exhibition, an installation captures the shade and texture of birch trees, showcasing the manually wound Evolution 9 dress watch SLGW003. This display, along with other models from the Evolution 9 collection, embodies Grand Seiko’s fusion of cutting-edge technology with refined Japanese aesthetics, inviting visitors to explore the nature-inspired textured dials and its intricate details.
Two Kodo Constant-Force Tourbillons were displayed to demonstrate the brand’s mastery of watchmaking excellence, in addition to the Evolution 9 collection. This exclusive line-up was complemented by a live demonstration of the 9R Spring Drive calibre assembly by Grand Seiko Master Watchmaker, Mr. Junya Kamijo. This provided guests with unique insights into the engineering behind Grand Seiko’s revolutionary Spring Drive technology, now celebrating its 20th anniversary.

To further deepen the appreciation for Grand Seiko’s design and craftsmanship, Mr. Kiyotaka Sakai, the designer of the Evolution 9 style, shared about his inspiration and creative journey. Through this insightful panel discussion, guests discovered how the collection is carefully crafted to harmonise advanced technology and Japan’s aesthetic traditions.
Ms. Ida Idris-Low, Managing Director of Grand Seiko Asia-Pacific, expressed, “This event is a testament to Grand Seiko’s commitment to both our heritage and our future.
