Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Chronograph
The Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Chronograph displays the aesthetic design codes directly rooted in the history of classical fine watchmaking and the Minerva history combined with a practical chronograph function.
The pure silvery-white dial contains balanced proportions between the aesthetic elements and the timekeeping functions. It features redesigned black Arabic numerals, classic blued leaf-shaped hands, a refined filet sauté guilloché and a unique railway minute track that encircles the dial and counters, completing the design and paying tribute to the elegance of historical Minerva timepieces.
Equipped with the automatic movement calibre MB 25.02, the Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Chronograph indicates the hours, minutes, seconds and date as well as the chronograph’s indications with central hand and counters.
The timepiece comes in a rounded 42 mm stainless steel case with curved horns and steps on the side, an onion-shaped crown with the Montblanc emblem, and a curved finish on the side of the case itself, giving a refined pebble effect.
The timepiece is completed with a new blue Sfumato alligator leather strap coming from the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence, Italy. The Sfumato effect is an additional operation realised on the strap, giving it a compelling finish. To view this chronograph, click here.
Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar
The Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar first catches the eye with its aesthetic design codes that indicate the hours, minutes, seconds combined with day, date, month and moonphase in the simplest and most elegant of ways. The date is indicated by a hand which culminates in a little red crescent that sweeps along a wreath of thirty-one digits around the dial’s periphery. The day of the week and the month appear in apertures, while the lower half of the dial is reserved for the moonphase display.
The design codes of this practical timepiece are directly rooted in the spirit of fine watchmaking and draw upon the 160 years of Minerva heritage. All the codes of the Star Legacy collection are present, including Arabic or Roman numerals, blue leaf-shaped hands, the iconic Montblanc exploding star guilloché pattern, unique railway minuterie track and filet sauté guilloché.
The dial comes in a silvery-white colour which matches perfectly with the brand-new blue Sfumato alligator leather strap that comes from the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence and provides utmost refinement. The Montlanc Star Legacy Full Calendar comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case and is equipped with the automatic calibre MB 29.12.
Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase
Classic fine watchmaking, timeless design and an ode to the moon come together in the Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase with its pure lines for the gentleman who wants to express his own personal style. Since the beginning of time, people in every culture have felt emotionally connected to the night’s brightest celestial body – the moon.
The Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase features a refined moonphase complication, which is highly appreciated by watch aficionados for its utility, technical prowess and beauty. The lunar cycle lasts 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 3 seconds. The function will then show the current phase of the moon in the lunar cycle, indicating if it is a new, full, half or quarter moon, as well as highlighting the illuminated portion of the moon, as it would be seen from Earth. Displayed in an aperture at six o’clock, the moonphase combined with a date brings elegant and refined proportions to the dial.
Respecting the Star Legacy design codes, the timepiece features elegant leaf-shaped hands, an exploding iconic Montblanc star guilloché pattern on a silvery-white dial or on a new slate grey dial, onion-shaped crown, unique railway minute track, filet sauté and redesigned Arabic numerals reminiscence of the historical Minerva pocket watches.
Equipped with the automatic movement Calibre MB 29.14, the Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase indicates the hours and minutes in the centre surrounded by a traditional railway track for utmost precision. Housed in a 42 mm round stainless steel case, with refined curved horns with distinctive facets, the piece comes complete with a sfumato alligator leather strap coming from by the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence, Italy.
This elegant slim design fits perfectly beneath a shirt for ease of wear and access for those looking for refinement. To view this beautiful, classical piece, click here.
160 Years of Fine Watchmaking Heritage
The Minerva heritage and legacy dates back to 1858 when the company founded by Charles-Ivan Robert specialized in gold pocket watches. The Montblanc Star Legacy Collection takes its inspiration from the Minerva heritage and the company’s pocket watches that were made during the late 19th century and early 20th century.
Montblanc’s archives show the existence of international orders from very early on. The legibility of the dials was of particular importance and some of the movements were cased in wristwatches.
As early as the year 1880, the manufacture had started to specialise in timekeepers that could be wound with a crown (called “remontoir au pendant” in French). These innovative pocket watches were among the first to be wound through the crown instead of a separate key. This is the reason why Minerva experienced considerable global success very early.
