A silicon balance spring is integrated in its movements in order to enhance the accuracy and longevity of its timepieces. The silicon balance spring is a lightweight material that is resistant to corrosion and is unaffected by factors that may cause changes to the movements, such as temperature variations, magnetic fields and atmospheric pressure.
Given its accuracy and precision, all the watches in the Record collection have been awarded the “Chronometer” certification by the COSC (Contrôle officiel suisse des chronomètres, the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute).
All timepieces in the Record collection, equipped with automatic movements, were tested individually by the organisation. This collection is the first Longines collection that is entirely COSC-certified.
The Longines Record is available in four sizes, 26mm, 30mm, 38.5mm and 40mm and a variety of dials, for both men and women, in both leather straps and bracelets.
The variants with 18-carat rose gold case features a transparent back that showcases the movement (references L2.321.5.11.7 and L2.821.5.11.7). There is also a variant with diamonds on the case and indices (reference L2.321.0.87.6).
