Dynamic Suspension
Angelus introduces a new collection that explores the tension between the circle and openworking. The Flying Tourbillon Titanium features the brand’s contemporary case design, with a carbon composite container encased by a titanium case middle and notched bezel. Inside, the new hand-wound A-310 calibre powers a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock. Large Arabic numerals float between the sapphire crystal and PVD-treated bridges, adding rhythm and lightness to the timepiece. The inaugural version is finished in blue, from the movement and flange to the interchangeable leather and rubber straps.
Dynamic Hues
The design of the Flying Tourbillon Titanium is defined by the contrast between the coloured bridges, flange, and minute circle, while the generous use of white Super-LumiNova on the imposing Arabic numerals enhances the effect. This interplay accentuates the rhodium plating of the movement’s functional parts.
The openworked three-armed wheels, a signature of Angelus watches, interlock to lead to the most dynamic feature: the flying tourbillon. Its carriage bridge is angled at 160 degrees, creating an asymmetry that enhances the technical rhythm of the Flying Tourbillon Titanium.
Dynamic Layers
The case consists of two parts: the first, a lightweight, rigid carbon composite container that protects the movement; the second, six main titanium elements that encase and secure the container.
The open-worked case middle widens towards the crown, which bears the Angelus logo. A 12-notched bezel surrounds the sapphire crystal, while faceted lugs secure the interchangeable bracelet system. Both the single-row titanium bracelet and matte blue leather strap versions of the Flying Tourbillon Titanium come with an additional blue rubber strap.
Dynamic Gear Train
This modular construction houses an updated version of Angelus’ historical A-300 calibre. The A-310 calibre is built around a series of circles – its mainplate and bridges – with an openworked structure. The small seconds at 9 o’clock visually balance the large barrel between 12 and 1 o’clock and the flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock.
With a 60-hour power reserve, the A-310 hand-wound calibre provides the Flying Tourbillon Titanium with a mechanism that lives up to its aesthetic ambitions and Angelus’ storied history.
