The History of Zenith
Georges Favre-Jacot established the first watch manufacture in the history of watchmaking in 1865 naming it Zenith. It refers to the highest point reached by a heavenly body in the sky and thereby symbolizing the heights of excellence to which the brand has aspired to ever since.
Fun Facts About Zenith
Indira Nehru gave a Zenith watch to his friend Mahatma Gandhi. This silver pocket watch became Gandhi’s constant companion that followed him on his travels.
In 1888, founder Georges-Favre Jacot registered the trademark for “PILOTe” and later “PILOT”. ZENITH remains the only watch brand that can have “PILOT” on its dials.
